Reformed spelling writes Վ where traditional spelling used Ւ for a v sound, so Western Armenians write Աւետիս and Armenians in Armenia write Ավետիս for the same name; the one exception is the pair եւ, which reformed spelling writes as the single letter և, as in Երևան.
