Armenian Gymnast Houry Gebeshian (The Gebeshian Move)

Twenty-seven-year-old Massachusetts native Houry Gebeshian made history twice at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

She was the first female gymnast to represent Armenia and performed a never before made a move on the uneven bars. The new move will be named after her, inducted into the gymnastic Code of Points as

“The Gebeshian.” The risky uneven bars mount consisted of propelling herself over the lower bar up to the high bar with a twist in between— never performed in a competition. Thank you, Houry Gebeshian Armenian Gymnast!
