Leonora Bio, work, Achievements

Arevik Tanashian born Grigoryan, on July 21, 1985, in Gyumri, with stage name: Leonora, is an Armenian opera singer, lyric soprano, winner of six Grand Prix international competitions, and Best Classical Singer of Armenia in 2016.

She studied Theater and music received the qualification of pianist and violinist. She attended Gyumri Art Center to study songs, dance, oil painting, and carpet weaving.
She continued her studies at the conservatory later on winning a contest of musicians-performers dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Gyumri branch of the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas and was awarded the gold medal and the title of the laureate.
She has performed solo concerts in Armenia, Artsakh, Austria, Brazil, Uruguay, Lebanon, Argentina, Iran, Syria and a number of other countries. In 2013, Leonora performed the role of Anush in Gyumri on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Anush opera.
In 2013, Leonora gave various solo concerts dedicated to the Armenian Genocide, Komitas, and Russian composer Sergey Rachmaninov in Yerevan, Gyumri and Artsakh. Leonora sang as a soloist at the Surb Astvatsatsin Church in Gyumri, was a member of the Gohar Choir, and a teacher singing at the Khachatur Avetisyan Music School.

Under the auspices of world-renowned pianist and composer Elias Rahbani, the first album of Leonora’s “Proshkhume” was released in Lebanon on February 12, 2014, and the second album of “Armenian Eagles” in 2016.

International award-winning Armenian opera singer Arevig Tanashian AKA Leonora and her husband-producer Vigen Tanashian contacted the office of Hranush Hakobyan, Minister of Diaspora, offering their support for funding the transportation of Syrian Armenians to Armenia.
Leonora ‘s husband Vigen Tanashian offered to assist the Minister of Diaspora in organizing concerts in various Armenian communities in Lebanon or elsewhere, to offer the revenues of these concerts to the Syrian Armenians who are willing to move but lack the resources.
