The Armenian Designer of Miss Tatarstan
30 contestants participating in Miss Tatarstan 2017, showed off their unique dresses made by LAMALIN, signed by a designer of Armenian descent, Varant Aprahamian.
Varant Aprahamian is an Armenian, of Lebanese nationality living in Beirut, Lebanon. Stylist by profession, he owns Atelier «A De PIKA», and has recently released his own clothing brand called LAMALIN.
From Beirut to Kazan
“…I recently met a very nice person named Mikhail Khachatrian- the head of the national-cultural autonomy of the Armenians of Tatarstan. We met in Moscow. He learned that I am a designer, I showed him my work. Michael invited me to Kazan, and supported me to dress “Miss Tatarstan 2017″. It’s – you can tell, our common success.”
According to Varant the success was due to being Armenian, “We understand each other well. We’ve some historical roots.”
The presented collection is also set to be sold. Prices from $ 1100 to $ 1500 – without commercial margins. Dresses made of the unique European fabrics, handmade.
