The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is The World Championship of Creativity and a global event for those working in the creative communications, advertising and related fields. Every year in June, around 11,000 registered delegates from 90 countries visit the Festival, to celebrate the best of creativity in brand communication, discuss industry issues and network with one another. Georgia actively participates in the festival and in the Young Lions competition.

This year for the local YL competition in Print category participants according to the brief had to create the poster, which would increase awareness about Georgia around the world. The objective was to create a poster to inform the world that Georgia is an independent country and the print ad was supposed to inspire the audience to learn more about Georgia.
Winners for the print category were announced on 22nd of April this year, Bronze winner became Georgian creative agency ABK, team of Nino Lazarashvili and Revaz Kuparadze. “Georgia is a small country but if you iron it it will be bigger than the USA”.
Even though only Gold winners are going to Cannes, The winners of Bronze became very popular in the region but no one knows them. Funny thing is that someone violated copyright laws, replaced Georgia with Armenia and posted it on various pages throughout the internet. Armenians liked poster and in 2 days it got more than 10 000 shares and now whole country believes that it was made for Armenia by Armenians.

Some apologised and deleted photo:

Others believe that it was made by Armenians for Armenia and they don’t want to delete it so poster goes more and more viral.
